Following the departure of the butcher and greengrocer from Ham Parade, and the success of nearby markets such as Kew Village Market, it became obvious that a vibrant monthly market is long overdue in Ham.
So a group of local people got together to form The Ham & North Kingston (THANK) Community Investors, a Community Interest Company (CIC) dedicated to investing in our local community.
You can see the full list of committee members here.
The aim of Ham Parade Market is to reinvigorate our local high street and in turn, raise further funds to invest in other areas of the local community.
The market is supported by the Ham Traders Association and local groups The Ham Amenities Group, The Ham & Petersham Association, Ham United Group and Ham & Petersham SOS; Zac Goldsmith MP for Richmond Park; and local councillors from all parties including Ham, Petersham & Richmond Riverside Cllrs Jean Loveland, Penny Frost and Sarah Tippet, and Kingston Cllr Andrea Craig.
Note that although some of the organisers and volunteers behind Ham Parade Market are local councillors or are active in different local political parties, THANK & the Ham Parade Market committee are proudly non-party political.
The market has been funded by in part by grants from Richmond Council and also by the community. If you would like to contribute to our crowdfunding campaign, you can do so here.
